Why will it take MONTHS for the game to come to Europe?
I do, however, feel the enterntainment industry is discriminating against Europe in general. We get everything later than the US (including stuff from the European companies) and it costs more too.
that's a simple question. Firaxis/whoever the hell is rushing this game is NOT rushing it for release in Europe. Hence, they'll be able to implement multiplayer/fix bugs/balance the game for you guys. Meanwhile, we're gona get a beta/half assed version. YIPEE I CANT WAIT!

I doubt that. We are going to get the same version as you, only later.
AND WITH THE ADDED PENALTY THAT IT WILL BE LOCALISED!
i agree with axi, if they dont release in Australia where i live within a week of release in america (it takes a few days to ship) then the natural thing i will do is to shop around for a pirate copy.
I'm willing to payt for the game, i want to support them, but they also have to suppot us. Ill do whatever it takes to get my hands on a copy. Pirate or not
because it is encypted and we export regulations for that stuff
j/k
doesnt europe use a different standard for boxes? maybe they have to have the packages custom made? and non-english countries need to have it translated...that takes some extra time from the gold release.

Well buying the game is a sign of approval and shows that I am keen to invest in Civ4 and it's production. I downloaded CtP2 but never bought it because I thought that it wasn't worthy of my money...but on the other hand, I never continued to play it. I just thought it seemed like they tried too hard to be different, and has convinced me that coservative changes to the underlying mechanics of civ are the way forward, and I approve of how the game has progressed. So it is most probable that I will buy the game.
provost, have a good connection? i must admit i would fancy a MP with you

A) Europe uses the same packaging as the US.
B) We don't need or even want to have it translated.

If I get my hands on a pirate copy, I won't buy the game. So Infogrames or whoever is selling the damn thing better be quick!
I prefer the silver high quality CD and the manual that comes with it than a cheap pirate copy if the game interests me a lot.
I will buy a pirate copy as soon as available and if I decide that the game worth it when it will be available in Greece I'll buy it.
As I told you unfortunately it is a marketing trick. If a Greek company would release a game it would be available first in Greek market and after a short period in the rest of the world.
But of cource this won't happened as there is no Greek company developing worthing games
