Back on topic, I agree that they should show off their customization abilities, like they did with the Rome scenario in Civ2, only more elaborate."Proletarier aller Länder, vereinigt euch!" -- Karl Marx & Friedrich Engels

Chris - Call to Power II's "World War II" scenario (a 10 meg download) was basically you as the Germans conquering half of France, while the Dutch and English sat around doing nothing, mainly because they were not main players in the game. It was not difficult at all, and was VERY one sided. In short - it sucked major ass"Chegitz, still angry about the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991?

they'd probably have fantasy/fictional scenarios. Like a remake of midgard. or dinosaurs.
Well, let's see what are almost certainly in:
alexander
rise of rome
ww1
ww2
and what are probably in:
crusades
colonial age
7 years
30 years
100 years
napoleon
cold war
and what i'd love to have in but probably aren't :
arab expansion (no arab civ)
mongol expansion (no mongol civ)
three kingdoms of china
peloponnesian war
fall of romePoor silly humans. A temporarily stable pattern of matter and energy stumbles upon self-cognizance for a moment, and suddenly it thinks the whole universe was created for its benefit. -- mbelleroff

Time to resurrect this!
Wish List time: what scenarios would you like to see? More specifically, which scenarios would you be willing to MAKE? If the editor is good, I'm sure we'll see a ton of player-made scenarios while we wait for multiplayer.
I like the idea of hypothetical wars better, myself, since you don't feel as limited by history (how many people, in a WW2 Pacific scenario as the Japanese, would attack Pearl Harbor just because that's what really happened?) Unless someone else makes them first, the ones I plan on doing:
> Second US Civil War, circa 2010 ("Oh no, the Californians have nuked St. Louis!"), going more for an East-West split.
> WW3, circa 1989, especially Europe. I was planning on using "Red Storm Rising", by Tom Clancy as the baseline, since it's non-nuclear. The tech works out nicely: give NATO the "modern" tanks/fighters/bombers, and the Warsaw Pact gets mostly the lower-tech version, but three times as many.
and maybe one where the US invades Canada, just for the heck of it.
(What do these have in common? Modern tech, short turn length relative to the tech tree)
Anyone else?

I had this idea for a Civ2 scenario, but I never made it. Maybe for Civ3, depending on what it plays like.
Iceland 1150. The Sturlung Age.
Ever since the settlement, 874-930, the young nation has lived in peace and prosperity. That is about to change. As the local chieftains get increasingly powerful, rivalry sets in. Before anyone sees what is coming, the country finds itself at war. Battles are fought on the land and sea and the war goes on for over a century. It leaves the country shattered, ripe for a foreign power to take control.
I wonder if that could be implemented properly. To be one with the Universe is to be very lonely - John Doe - Datalinks

I'd like to see it ship with a huns scenario and then basically all the ones that have already been said. Also i plan to make a scenerio of the world around 1 C.E. Where the players still will expand but they have already been pre-rootedLet us unite together as one nation, a world nation" - Gundam Wing

I'd like to see a scifi scenario (don't *****, they can be done well) with earth setting off for the stars ideally thogh just earths future can be enough.
Aliens could invade and we have to try and befriend the friendly Grey aliens to have any hope of saving the human race.
A british empire scenario would be interesting - nice and varied with multiple parts in India, the Crimea, Africa(Boer war) maybe including world war1 or 2.
I think it would be good to link scenarios where possible to give more variety or am i missing the point of scenarios with this
Hmm James bonds on now, so CYA
how about a Cold war scenario with James bond? I've never had to use my spies fully in civ yet.. civ3's espionage sounds GREAT though.. can't wait.
As long as I have the tools to make an intersting scenario , I may transfer my civ TOT scenario to it (dosen't have many events.txt things anyhow, takes too long to bugfix them)

No. There will not be a sci-fi scenario in the game.
They will most likely base their scenarios on the civs and units they have only just finished making rather than creating new ones.
Hense why we can almost be sure of The Rise of Rome and World War 2
But little else is sure.
To be honest I'd most like a modern scenari, but I suppose I can just make that meself.A witty quote proves nothing. - Voltaire

War of RosesHowever, it is difficult to believe that 2 times 2 does not equal 4; does that make it true? On the other hand, is it really so difficult simply to accept everything that one has been brought up on and that has gradually struck deep roots – what is considered truth in the circle of moreover, really comforts and elevates man? Is that more difficult than to strike new paths, fighting the habitual, experiencing the insecurity of independence and the frequent wavering of one’s feelings and even one’s conscience, proceeding often without any consolation, but ever with the eternal goal of the true, the beautiful, and the good? - F.N.

How about:
La Reconquista: Aragonese, Castillians, Leonese, Portuguese, Navarrese, Catalonians, Arabs.
The first unification of Italy: Romans, Etrurians, Samnitians, Carthagians, Sikilians, Greeks.
The war in Yugoslavia: Slovenians, Croats, Serbs, Bosnians, Macedonians, U.N., Neutrals.
I did these in civ2, so I'll probably try to do them in civ3 too!
