Don't worry Uber, the maximum map size will be 256 times 256 tiles.

Never having played CTP or CTP II (other than for about 1/2 hr), what was it like to play with 32 civilisations?
tis better to be thought stupid, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

Never really played CTP or CTP II either, only little in my friend's house.

Well, I assume it will be more interesting with 16 civs in normal games. Where 16 civs are really crucial, though, is scenarios. I was frustrated by being unable to create scenarios with more than seven civs in Civ 2.

In my games, at least, everyone built about 2 cities and then killed off each other. I didn't play CTP very much, though, and don't have many memories of how it was like. I'd imagine that civ3 will be much more enjoyable with 16 civs on a large map.

My notebook's max. resolution is only 800x600, so I hope you are right about the screenshots.

Well, Infogrames' site, Firaxis.com, and Civ3.com don't have a release date or news item posted. Combined with all the game dealers changing the release dates, I don't think there has been an official release date announced.

Uber, you really do have no life!

It's good that there are going to be games with lots of cities. The one thing I hated about Civ2 ,was that the AI stopped expanding after a while. It was too easy to colonize their continents and take them over.
To us, it is the BEAST.

They most likely just made the shots smaller for faster download.

Taking another look at these maps, they really have improved the continent shapes immensely. Pat on the back, Firaxis.
I'm typing this from my bathtub. It helps support my girth.

I don't remember ever hearing anything Bison, but, unlike Uber, I have a life () and classes to take, so I'm not always 100% up-to-date.

Maybe it wasn't the nicest statement ever, but it doesn't hurt to poke a little fun occasionally. Also - Uber is the one that said it in the first place.

Taken from Uber's very own title:
