Can you bribe ANY units? Remember - the diplomat/spy units are gone....

IIRC, you can buy them via the diplomacy screen, so if bribing is in in some format, you can quite surely use that too.

        Spy/diplomats

I didn't know that diplomats were gone. Is there something to replace them?? They were my favourite unit, just like me, sneaking around and stealing stuff.

PS Can you have images in signatures??

I don' t think there are any units to replace the diplomat/spies, just an espionage window. But no one has heard anything about what that screen entails and what you can do with it.

Hopefully, Firaxis really has a treat for us, and they want to surprise us...either that or they're so ashamed of it they can't bear to tell us...

Dan "The Man" Magaha said the "E" on the main screen is a sort of "espionage advisor", where i guess you can say "i want to steal The Wheel" and they ask for like 200 gold or something for their efforts...

thats how i think it could work.

but, i dont think CSUs could be bribed, and i dont think CITIES should EVER be bribed. espionage should only WEAKEN a city's defense.

Once again, I'm going to say that realism should be thrown out the window...it's good to have another method of capturing a city.

I wonder if they added the "cultural conquest" and removed the conquest by bribery? Maybe not... can't wait to see the new espionage screen!!

That would be interesting...but don't you already have a sort of "cultural conquest" by default?

Well I presume you will be working from a espionage screen or something and give more general orders (ie, infiltrate city here, plant nuclear device there, etc) rather than command individual units, which is kind of unrealistic. Spies will do what they do best, spy and infiltrate, and thus will not be visible to attack, except by equivalent counterespionage methods...

it would be messed up if u bribed civ specific units
it is a little unrealistic u can bribe CITIES, so I can understand them taking that out.

i will miss those spies ...

i'm more interested in if you can sell them, to keep your allies strong and make some dough

if you can bribe units in general then i think the uu's should not be bribable

What if it's something like this:
Say I'm Persia, and the Iroquois want my Immortal. I sell it to them and immediately order a bigger wallet . But when they get it, it's the non-civ-specific equivalent.

Okay, so it's kind of unrealistic, but it's not THAT unrealistic. How realistic is the tech tree or culture points?

Okay, so it's THAT unrealistic. Sue me.
