  • Modern era pic from GameStar

http://www.nexgenmedia.net/civ3-1.jpg - Shows the indians in the modern era. Not sure if this was posted before.

    [edit]
    Better version (300k!) at http://www.nexgenmedia.net/civ3-2.jpg

    [/edit]

I apologise for the somewhat bad image quality, my scanner needs to be calibrated (and I lost the calibration sheet).

As you can see, the roads are pretty much what they look like in say LA, with underpasses and such. The top, left city has to its left a normal road (pretty hard to see on the image)

Also, and hill/mountain with such a road gets a tunnel entrance graphic.

    COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!!!

The city looks like before though... It must be the quality that is fooling me...!!!

But what are those white marks in south-east of the cities??? Looks like some kind of small "squares"?

Better version. The cities are high rises, with a tank graphic on them (hiding most of the city image too)

        OK!
1.) I can see the small "squares" better, but I can't understand what they are for?
2.) On this map, the largest civ has 24-25 cities, as far as I can see(the blue one), the smallest two has 10 cities(the green and the orange). I can't remember what number that was most "usual" in Civ2, but I think you had to be bigger!
3.) It seems like the worker are with us still in the modern times, no engineers!

They look like airports to me (or maybe airbases).

Ummm... The one with the anchor on it indicates the presence of a harbour, the one with the airplane indicates the presence of an airport.

i should note that i've passed the image through the "auto-levels" fuction in photoshop, that's why it looks more blue-ish....

firaxis or photoshop? whose colors are best?

Anybody else really intrigued about the roads now. Near the top there is a square that has two roads that aren't connected. What's that all about?

                        No engineers?

In the screenshot, there are still the basic workers from the ancient age. Are engineers no longer in Civ? Do workers no longer get upgraded? I really hope something upgrades worker speed in the mid-late game.

                          Isn't that a bit off-topic, Eli?

BTW, Mark, when I have answered an off-topic post like now, without writing anything about the off-topic; is that legal? (it is fine to know for the future! )

                            Irrigation

Is there no longer farmland? The irrigation is also the same as the ancient irrigation, yet one of the cities is building mech. infantry which at least in Civ2 was a late game unit, well after farmland.

these are probably test pictures guys, most probably with lots of help from cheats/editor. it's not something taken from an actual game....
