Yes, the first one was worth 50 points, the second was worth 40, then 30 then 10... Hey, wait a second... These scores remind me of the chariots attack values in each sequal of Civ

Not fair to people who only found out on the day of the question worth ten points.

I was getting real tired of those sumerian questions too!
Do you think we're gonna have a few more egyptian questions and then move on to Greece? - makes sense to put them in the same order as the civ-of-the-week.
Makes me fear when they get to the chinese, I hardly know anything about them - blame it on danish history books!
Dont feel offended if i missed you (that goes for everyone doing the questions )... My 'list' wasnt meant to be all-inclusive... Just some names ive seen a lot of
And as for your score, congratulations. Full score

it's not fair
I got bot the 2nd and the 3rd question wrong,
now I'm on 100 points......
You mean the future-telling question, right? If so, we both got this one wrong for the same reason. I too used a website or two to double-check this one as I doubted between liver and intestines (both bodyparts are used by different civs, but I didn't remember which one exactly the Sumerians used). I for one thought 'entrails' (a term used on those websites) and 'intestines' (the Trivia option) meant the same thing (and I'm guessing you did too), while this is not the case. Entrials are pretty much all internal organs while intestines are just one. In Dutch these terms are very similar though (entrails means so much as 'ingewanden' while intestines are 'darmen'), so I (we?) didn't get this question wrong because we didn't know, but because of a language issue!
On top of that, I missed the first question myself (it wasn't online for very long, only from roughly 21:00h Friday evening to 6:00h Saturday morning) so I'm now already 90 points behind on the top scorers, while I basically knew all the answers Oh well, eventually I'll work my way up the ranking...
High Priests played a very important role in Sumerian society. They were believed to be the only people who could interpret a variety of signs in order to understand the will of the gods and goddesses who dictated human destiny. One of the most common methods of divination was reading sheep or goat intestines.
We may never be known for certain to what extent the looped movements of Mercury were linked to the Sumerians' favoured divination technique - observations of the convuluted intestines of sheep or lambs specially sacrificed daily. An obscure passage in the Epic would seem to be describing the forms of intestines and livers when inspected by augers. Suffice to say that astrology, as a diviniation technique, came much later than Gilgamesh.
you can't trust anybody these days :-(
So far I got a higher score from the answers I 'guessed' then from the answers I searched for on the net.

damn i was on vacation and only started yesterday. so 40 is not bad. it would be cool if you would get no of points based on how quickly you respond. otherwise people may search the net or pedias.....

Not that it would matter anyway, since you can cheat heavily by trying out the right answer by using another "profile". Which makes me wonder by the way - will firaxis make cheating just as easy in MP games? Hope not.
