  • Will the end game replay be in?

I haven't actually played the original Civilization, but I've heard so many people talk with sincere devotion about the automated replay at the end of that game, and how they missed it in CivII.

I think it'd be nice if it was included this time around. But do we have any info on this yet? Haven't been able to find anything about it on Firaxis' site.

Im happy to say that it is in and confirmed

See http://www.civfanatics.com/civ3infocenter.shtml for this (and many other) details
I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).

Yes they answered it in one of the Ask the civ team at civ3.com. Replay will be in.

I think it was the second one.

Great news. Civfanatics seem to have a lot of supplementary info on the game as well. Thanks for the link.

We're starving for this game aren't we?

They've done a great job of compiling existing info- if you've read all the previews the Civfanatics Info Center acts only as something to refresh your memory.

              Only nice.

I am glad its in, it was one of the best non-core parts of the game.

Yes, I'm aware of that Snapcase. This is the case with all the Civilization fansites - including Apolyton, innit?

I hope the replay is even more extensive than what it was in SMAC. Was the Civ1 or the SMAC replay better?
However, it is difficult to believe that 2 times 2 does not equal 4; does that make it true? On the other hand, is it really so difficult simply to accept everything that one has been brought up on and that has gradually struck deep roots – what is considered truth in the circle of moreover, really comforts and elevates man? Is that more difficult than to strike new paths, fighting the habitual, experiencing the insecurity of independence and the frequent wavering of one’s feelings and even one’s conscience, proceeding often without any consolation, but ever with the eternal goal of the true, the beautiful, and the good? - F.N.

the SMAC replay was pretty bad, it didn't work in all map sizes and didn't take terraforming into account.

I think Civ1 was better- it paused until you hit the spacebar so you could READ about what was happening as you watched the map- plus you could print it out to a file along with an historical map that placed cities- even destroyed ones- it really made you feel like you'd witnessed the rise of civilization!

So because its being given away for free with a magazine, its not ok to download it for free?!? Highly illogical. As a better trade, after you've got your copy of Civ I, reward Sid by making sure you buy Civ 3 when it comes out...
