  • I got the Shockwave animations from the old page...

    ...and I thought I could share them with the one of you that haven’t seen them before Dan closed the site, but as they are to big to attach I can't
    Anyway, I could mail them to someone at Apolyton (probably MarkG) to add them to your screenshots. But then I would like to have an e-mal address, and permission to send the files.

      I'll do that if Markos doesn't wan't them.
      I'll wait one more day until I mail them.

      You just have to open them in IE. (If you have the plugin)

        Okay, I've uploaded them on an old site that is dead (has a new server), and I sometimes store things on. I don't know how long I'll be able to keep them up, but I'll try to not delete them too soon.

          Hmmm... it all looks very "sandbox" to me.

            Could you send me those files? I'd like to put them on my website. Just use the send e-mail that's in the post header.
            I never know their names, But i smile just the same

              You did obviously not see that I posted links to them in my last post And that email function don't support attachment. You have to download them yourself (see my last post in this thread)

                OK, I don't know much about Shockwave. I can't figure out how to save the animations. If you want to you can e-mail them to me at mckibbin@purdue.edu (I haven't used the e-mail function, I just assumed it would open a new message addressed to whoever you wanted it to.

                Not to ask for too much, but how did you set up the animations on that webpage? I use Frontpage 2000 because it's really easy.

                  How about rightclick on the link and select 'Save goal as...'?

                  I'll do it in an hour if you don't get them before (post and tell me if it doesn't work) I don't like to mail thins bigger then one meg as it sometimes bounce on the mailserver and I get 5 times my original message back. And that is waste of bandwidth.

                  That was how it worked wit UBB.

                  Actually I didn't setup anything, I link directly to the files. If you have the Shockwave plugin it will work. Otherwise it will not work, and you will download the files.
                  To setup a page I would have to use some object tags, and I'm to lazy to do so for some animations that aren't permanent placed.
                  If you don't find out how to do it I might help you.

                    Okay, let's see if I can load up the Catapult (smallest) in the forum.

                    height=200 swRemote="swSaveEnabled='true' swVolume='true' swRestart='true'
                    swPausePlay='true' swFastForward='true' swContextMenu='true' "
                    swStretchStyle=none type="application/x-director"
                    pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/">

                    Edit: It seem to work. Use quote to see the code I used.

                        But when i tried to replace the http stuff with the different addresses it didn't work I also downloaded the .dir files but I don't know what to do with them. I tried to change the source to the path where the .dir files where and it didn't work

                        You could always just post all of them here and let me use the reply thing.

                        It was funny when I changed the source, it didn't change anything so I had 5 catapaults sitting there.

                          There are two paths (it has something to do with different browsers.) One is the <PARAM NAME="SRC" VALUE="PATH">-tag and the other is the other is the <embed src="PATH" ... >-tag

                          You could always just post all of them here and let me use the reply thing.
                          Yes, indeed I could, but that would result in 1.71 MB files loading for everyone that open this thread , and that would be bad for all modem users.
                          If you need more help PM me and I'll PM you with the code. (Do you know if HTML is on for PMs?)

                          You probably just changed the URL that not applies to your browser.

                            Alright, I only changed one of the src things and that was why it didn't work. I have all of them on there but I can't get the catapault.dir file from your website... The rest are being hosted by me. Thanks for the help. Here's the web page that they're on http://icdweb.cc.purdue.edu/~mckibbi...creenshots.htm

                              The paths on that page aren't relative. They are pointing to something on your HD.

                              The file is named catapult_anim.dir, not catapault.dir

                              The following URLs work:
