Pollution model for Civ III

Does anyone have any info on what the pollution model is going to be for Civ III ? I cannot recall any information on this. Will we get corrupted tiles? If so, how will they be cleaned up? The Civ2 method was kinda lame (IMNSHO), since it was so easy to get around.

I recall reading something about Global Warming being in ... all coastal tiles are swamped, but cities aren't destroyed. Can anyone confirm/deny this?
