Is windowed mode a good thing?

Personally heres i think about windowed mode:

Pros:
- Better game atmospheare
- More screen space
- No program interuptions

Cons:
- No access to running other programs
- Inability to minimize the game
- Possible menu problems

Some games handel windowed modes really well, just as good as none windowed, so if Firaxis does create an easy-to-use menu, it proberly wont bother me. What do you think about Civ 3 being windowed?

civ 3 isn't windowed. it's full screen. i think you have the two reversed.

anyway, i like windowed mode better, and some Firaxian said you could ALT+ENTER it.

dewd, you have them switched.... windowed means like civ2... full-screen means like in starcraft, et al.. and dan said it would be full-screen, but very alt-tab friendly

You want a windowed game. A non-windowed game cannot leverage the full power of your graphics card. It's called "exclusive mode" in DirectX.

I will spare you my derogatory comments about Microsoft, but it is their library, so we have to have it Windowed to play in their sandbox.

A decent alt-tab will be ok with me.
