What to do with leftover sheilds?

ancient: in Civ2, you just keep building the wonder, and switch when a new wonder becomes available. (Although in Civ2, you should be using caravans/freights for most of the building)

Civ3- will this still be available who knows?

I don't think you get any money for shields already in your build box, when you switch to Capitalization in Civ2.

well, AFAIK, you can send a great leader to a city to form a military academy, or whatever that wonder is that makes leaders.
