  • Civ III, the later years....

Is it just me, or has firaxis been more than a little tight-lipped about gameplay in the later years of CivIII?

    How do nuclear weapons work?
Air units are handled how? (range, carriers, scrambling etc.)
Naval units (zones of control etc.)
What happens when the tech tree ends? ("future tech" again?)
    Railroads?

While I'm sure all will become clear in time (hopefully october!), I'd like to open a thread based on our speculations and info from Sid et all. about life in the final years of your civ.

I'm affraid that the only info we'll get from Firaxis until Civ III is released will be the weekly new civ update on the website.
I personaly would rather prefer to have some of our most burning questions (e.g. the ones regarding the AI) to be answered.
Somebody told me I should get a signature.

Actually, Dan has said that they will be doing designer updates and such, just not weekly. So he said your going to have to check civ3.com daily until you see a new one. Or just continue visitng ACS.

Genghis John, yes they have not released info on modern ages purposefully. Dan said that the screen saver is the whole phalanx beats a battleship joke but they couldn't use a battle ship because they are not showing us the modern age. Whether this is because they are still tinkering with it or simply a marketing thing remains to be seen.
