In the new pair of screenshots from the official civ3 site, I have been wondering what the numbers next to the city name mean. Under the city, we see a "tag" that looks like this:
12 Babylon:1
Hanging Gardens:7
Obviously the big 12 is the population and "Hanging Gardens:7" is the current production item and the remaining turns until completion. "babylon" is the name of the city but what is the "1" mean?
Well, I think I figured it out. I think the number next to the city is the number of turns until the pop increases.
If I am right, this is very cool. The number of turns until pop increase and the number of turns until production is complete are two very important pieces of info. In previous civ games, the player had to go to the city screen for each city in order to find out. It seems like, in civ3, this info will be more readily accesible right on the main map.
For some of you, this is probably old news. But I thought I would mention it even so.
