  • I think Firaxis has made a big mistake animating the advisors

Let's face it, thousands of civ players had a big crush on the foreign advisor in Civ II. Now that little guilty pleasure will be lost to us. Can't we have another sexy advisor or two or three?

I used to always listen to the civ II foreign advisor, over and over again, even though she never made the slightest bit of sense

Also, it would be fun to see and hear Sid and Jeff and other staff live.
Any views I may express here are personal and certainly do not in any way reflect the views of my employer. Tis the rising of the moon..

Look, I just don't anymore, okay?

Well, you *can* always replace the Advisor art, I dare not imagine who you'd put up there instead, though...

BTW, Sid just told me to tell you, maybe we'll put out a "Madeline Albright / Janet Reno" patch later just for you....

Yeah she was nice but nothing to get obsessed over. I don't really care about the advisors. I usually don't like to listen to pointless advice. Nor do I like to listen to informed advice. So what does it matter to me? Firaxis you should supply Horsie with a Civ2 foreign advisor gallery.
However, it is difficult to believe that 2 times 2 does not equal 4; does that make it true? On the other hand, is it really so difficult simply to accept everything that one has been brought up on and that has gradually struck deep roots – what is considered truth in the circle of moreover, really comforts and elevates man? Is that more difficult than to strike new paths, fighting the habitual, experiencing the insecurity of independence and the frequent wavering of one’s feelings and even one’s conscience, proceeding often without any consolation, but ever with the eternal goal of the true, the beautiful, and the good? - F.N.

          Game trivia

Anyone ever get any info on who the advisors were for civ 2? I assume they were actors. Anyone know what the foreign advisor is doing now?

I promise not to stalk her

Even Civ 3 cant be free of the "sexy babes=sales" syndrome!
It's candy. Surely there are more important things the NAACP could be boycotting. If the candy were shaped like a burning cross or a black man made of regular chocolate being dragged behind a truck made of white chocolate I could understand the outrage and would share it. - Drosedars

              Dan,

I got an idea for what you can do for Horsie. Instead of having that picture of that lady in the 'Search' (I think it's Elizabeth I???) you should place the picture of the Civ2 Foreign Advisor. So how about it? ??

I think Firaxis made a great mistake by using graphics. What's wrong with text-based games!?!

I think Firaxis made a great mistake making Civ 3 a computer game. After all, what's wrong with pen and paper games? Aren't they fun anymore?

That's easy: the Elerian advisors from MOO2.

Actually, I think there was a thread (or maybe a news item) about her not too long ago. She is an actress. If I recall correctly, the thread gave a link or posted an article about her that was discussing some current project she was working on. At the end, it mentioned some of her past efforts, including the fact that she was the advisor in Civ II.

I think it said she likes horses, too.
