Call To Power 2 Cradle 3+ mod in progress: https://apolyton.net/forum/other-games/call-to-power-2/ctp2-creation/9437883-making-cradle-3-fully-compatible-with-the-apolyton-edition
I agree that the forums are certainly getting boring and repetitive, but I'm not going anywhere. I'm too hooked on civ. If I can't have the game, I'll at least be able to talk about it.
Are you really here just for the Civ3 rumors? I think most folks come for Civ2 or CTP or OT and stop by Civ3 out of curiousity. Yes, the Civ3 forum has been very silly lately, what with the lack of news to comment on, but it only takes a minute to check for messages of substance.

I think you are on to something there, CyberShy.

i agree the forum is getting boring. that is one of the main reasons i left for the month of june. However, when i came back just recently i found we were still talking about the same boring things and nothing news worthy had came out. Then i read a delightful post by yin about joining the pessimistic club. Now at first i laughed about it and told him to just drink some alcohol and he would be all better. But then, i thought about it and was like what the hell. Then the forum got even better when we had off shoots of the pessimitic club. Now we had a little funny war going on here. It lasted all of like 3 days but those days were pretty fun. So, i say markos should lighten up just a bit and let it go until some new news comes out. It isn't like we are going to get that far out of hand and if we started to he could just stop it agian. But i personally would rather talk about that(all be it very stupid) than the same boring thing 500 times. I mean it has gone as far as talking about what sid's next project will be. That is one of the better post too. So, if we have this little rivalry going we would have some new fresh ideas instead of the same idea rehashed over and over and over and over until it dies. Also, i think most people here are smart enough to realize we are joking around but my efforts are probably in vain here. So i guess i will have to live oppressed lol:banned:

Heck. I've been here nearly a year. I recently have been tired from the lack of new material- but everyone here should at least stay for a year in this section... Do a search under my name in this part of the Forums, you will find that I have posted every week in this forum (with the exception of 8 1 week 'vacations' from Apolyton, playing Earth:2025,Starcraft,etc.)

Agree with Beckdawg,
It's been so long.............yes it's getting old.
Yin's club and others were a nice diversion. Rome had the gladiators, Apolyton had clubs. I'm surprised that Mark shut it down so quick. He's usually more clever than that. They generated a lot of posts, and took people's mind off the lack of information. (and if anyone thought that interview was jam packed with information ) It was getting slightly out of hand, but it was drawing people back. Mark should have at least let it run a week or two before shutting it down. (especially since he started it)
If you look at my posts, you will see that they are sporatic over the last year. (because few topics were worth discussing or not beaten dead with a stick yet)
I'll stay around out of hope. As I'm sure most of you will.

I would like to see more people review CIV III. They were usually very insightful, (and somewhat entertaining) because they highlighted what people thought most important about the game.
Heck, they're no more fantasy than 90% of the other threads.
And to those that leave, you'll be back or you wouldn't have come in the first place
It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

Oh yes Rommel - do take care of your words and smilies. Remember this?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.. ...
Look what the lack of updates from firaxis has done to us. They have reduced the weak minded to playing civilizations over email. LOL. This is classic.
followed by this:
i did something not quite unlike this at one time and IT WAS THE GAYEST THING I HAVE EVER DONE IN THE FEW YEARS IVE BEEN ON THIS PLANET. Thank you for your time.
And the answer:
I'll bet it isn't
and you again:
Thanks alot Lung for that subtle implication. I assure you it was the "stupidest" thing I've ever done.
Then the final answers:
Yanks are so easy to bait You must admit - you left yourself w i d e open for that cheap shot
I'm still chuckling over Rommel's indignant reply. Yanks fall for it every time
Remember Rommel - we PBEM players have a long memory. Maybe that's why we like to play the way we do.
And who is actually the most weak-minded? You or the PBEM players?
