  • 3-D Board for Civ4

Has anybody ever considered the idea of playing Civ on a globe? If any of you have ever played Black and White or Populous, you know what I'm talking about. It would incorporate into gameplay very well, and I think it would be fun. Any comments?

I think it will be diffecult to make to a game made of squares like Civilization games!
This space is empty... or is it?

The thought of civ 4 is so distant to me. And I would rather see civ 3 as the last civ game than have civ4, civ5, civ6 etc. There comes a time even for the best to step aside, overdo it and you will lose the magic of it all (like starwars, in my opinion at least).
This does not mean im against civ 4, but only if its made with the honest intention of making a great and epic game, not just a cheap cash in.
It's candy. Surely there are more important things the NAACP could be boycotting. If the candy were shaped like a burning cross or a black man made of regular chocolate being dragged behind a truck made of white chocolate I could understand the outrage and would share it. - Drosedars

I remember a couple of discussions on this issue.

Currently checking DarkCloud's related threads for all of them but here are two that I know where in existence back on the old threads.

        The Map - Spherical Globe in 3D ... like Populous 3 - http://apolyton.net/forums/Forum6/HTML/001741.html

        Rotable-able map - http://apolyton.net/forums/Forum6/HTML/001645.html

I know there were some more but can't find them now.

Squares don't work well on a sphere. Anyway, we should wait for a Civ 4 forum before we get all suggesting. Right now we can jst sit and wait for the newest Civ3 news and perhaps post quick fix-ups that can realistically be put into Civ3 before release.
