  • Small new civ3 preview with more on culture

    here is a new (as far as i can tell) small preview of civ3 i found at voodoo extreame

    most of the information comes from E3 and nothing is really new except for this

    There will be a totally new victory state too as you will be able to score what is know as a ‘cultural win’ by being a clearly dominant cultural force on the world stage. The game will measure this by looking at how effectively you have influenced the development of the other civilizations and also take into account the sphere of influence you have when looking at how much of the landmass in the game is being maintained by your empire. These new victory conditions should open up the gameplay to fresh possibilities, and in particular will make diplomacy a much more important part of the action.

    I have read this before somewhere else. Not new, just nice to see again.

    The article mentions the following ways to win:

    1. world conquering
    2. culture victory
    3. economic victory (like the SMAC purchasing of the world)
    4. being voted President of Earth or a diplomatic victory

    And of course I would expect that the space flight victory would still be present.

    * * *

    However, probably the most interesting thing for those of you trying to keep track of the release date would be

    Civ 3 is definitely a strategy game which sits near the top of the MGON ‘to die for’ list, and hopefully the game will be here early next year as promised.
    Not that I am suprised.
    About 24,000 people die every day from hunger or hunger-related causes. With a simple click daily at the Hunger Site you can provide food for those who need it.

        Alex,

        While it's not official, what makes you think that Civ Fanatics is more authoritative?

          Well why would they lie, they said it like they were certain about it. And game sites dont just say that fotr the sake of it.
