i downloaded those 12 MB but now Real Player won't open it. I really do not know what to do, nor do I know how to save the file which is obviously lurking somewhere (not on hard, that's for sure)
anyone has any idea?
i managed to get it play somehow. waste of time. nothing new, some pompous music blasting against flaming backgrounds and sid talking about how great game's gonna be. verdict - no need to download unless you have really fast connection.
None of the movies will download for me. They either have a "This page cannot be found" message or the little guy inside my computer stares into space for a while. Punching computer only hurts self, accomplishes little.

Believe me, people, you did not miss anything. The video is just hype, no new info - I even freezed some frames but it is too blurry. Small videos are just animated units, they could have already been seen attacking, etc. So, really nothing to be upset about.
You'd just automatically expect such a great man to speak with an English accent. Same as God I suppose as well, who is always stereotyped as having an English accent. Well, in England anyway

I did find out one interesting thing though.......Sid Mier is an American!! For some reason I always thought he was British.
If I remember right, Brian Reynolds is British. May be you confuse the two in your mind, because of main role of Brian in CivII.

Not since we sold all our movie making assets to Hollywood who come over and employ the likes of Kevin Costner to be Robin Hood. Now everyone from Cockney gutter trash to the Fifth Earl of Huntingdon speaks in an American accent. Typically the more noble the person, the broader the accent required
ahah........yeah, the American accent in Robin Hood Prince of Theives was rather stupid wasn't it.....not very authentic. Could you imagine if Mel Gibson had used an American accent in Braveheart? Good thing he didn't.

Well, Brian wrote most of Civ 2 in England, but I'm fairly certain he's a good ole boy: A Phi Beta Kappa graduate from the University of the South, Sewanee, Tennessee.

or what if he used an aussie accent in his movies, he did grow up in australia and did all his first roles in Australian films till he was discovered and stolen back to the US where he was actually born

But who wants to compare Kevin Costner with Mel Gibson anyway?
