Uncle Funk, you really don't know what you're talking about. First of all, in the screenshot on the side there is only 6 heads shown not 7 heads. Second, a lot of the civs that you've confirmed to be in the game, haven't been confirmed. Third, you seem to know some how that 16 civs will complicate the game. How would it complicate the game with a big map? Fourth, some of the special units you confirmed haven't been confirmed yet, either. Fifth, all you do is go off of speculation. Quit telling people that there will only be 7 civs playable at once when you have absolutely no idea if that's true.

However, it is difficult to believe that 2 times 2 does not equal 4; does that make it true? On the other hand, is it really so difficult simply to accept everything that one has been brought up on and that has gradually struck deep roots – what is considered truth in the circle of moreover, really comforts and elevates man? Is that more difficult than to strike new paths, fighting the habitual, experiencing the insecurity of independence and the frequent wavering of one’s feelings and even one’s conscience, proceeding often without any consolation, but ever with the eternal goal of the true, the beautiful, and the good? - F.N.

1. As I said, I´ve only checked it b r i e f l y, and when I did, I thought the head on top looked like Lincoln. And if this was a foreign advisor as I recalled, there should only be 6.
2. Where did I say something was confirmed? where? I´ll quote myself:
The list of civilizations that most likely will be in Civ3:
4. see point 2.
5. This is a forum, you´re allowed to speculate, as long as you don´t claim anything to be true. And AAMOF, I´ll from now on speculate even more, just because you don´t like it.
Stop following my threads and just complain about me. I bet you´re like 12-13? Don´t you have something better to do? Hmm, maybe not.Last edited by Juggernaut; July 4, 2001, 05:03.

These advisors on there are domestic roles, eg, research, treasury, trade, military, city, etc. I'm sure that you would access diplomacy functions under one of these advisors.
I have *heard* 16 civs myself in one preview of the game, although nothing is definite. No one really knows. I would like for there to be 16 simultaneous civs in the game with a huge map. One of the things I always enjoyed about the original civ was sailing around the world, finding land, exploring and bumping into new peoples.Speaking of Erith:

Yeah, not really avoidable though (the land area thing). Look at the land area of the UK and the empire it possessed up until relatively recently. On a civ2 map, you could only fit one city realistically on GB, 2 at a push!
Yeah, 16 civs are better, but for it to be playable, you need a bigger map!Speaking of Erith:

I really think that something on the order of 16 civs on a bigger map would be good. Two caveats, though. First, it has to be guaranteed by in-game consequences that the size of your civ won't exceed 40 cities. Second, the AI has to be programmed so that it fills up the space as quickly as possible. That way, you end up with a large number of civs which are all comparable in size. That's my kind of game.12-17-10 Mohamed Bouazizi NEVER FORGET

I don't mean a pre-programmed limit. I simply mean that having an empire larger than this would produce such severe negative consequences that it would be counter-productive.12-17-10 Mohamed Bouazizi NEVER FORGET

I didn't say that all of the civs are comparable in size; I said that a large number of them are. Countries of approximately the size of France or Germany are the norm; countries like the USSR and the Netherlands are exceptions.12-17-10 Mohamed Bouazizi NEVER FORGET
