  • What about this...

I was just thinking, how is it right, for some pre-industrial nation, to be able to see an F-14 flying miles above their territory? I think you should have to build radar in order to "see" air units. Just think about it, it would actually make perfect sense! That way you could also surprise your enemy with a rain of terror from above! This is what happened at Pearl Harbor... we didn't see it coming and look what happened! Also, this would even allow stealth air units to actually have a stealth ability (finally). They wouldn't be seen on radar. Get what I'm saying? Hehe, okayz, just give it some thought

How did you manage to nab yourself a 1969 registration date, but not post a single time until now? What have you been doing, sitting on your account for the last 3 years?

If you look at his profile, it says only one post. If you search for "other posts by this user" you'll get a whole bunch, but many are from 1969. Sorta strange, don't you think?

            whatever.

in any case, theres a rule now.

you must have all THE MAJOR techs of a age (industrial, mideval, etc) to get techs from the new one.

not sure if that applies to trading

I believed Mark or Dan said one time this site was called another name some time ago and maybe some of these people are from the original site.

Yes, the site WAS actually TWO sites many years ago. The two sites, one being the "Best Greek Civilization Site" or something of the sort, and a site I believe here in the US, merged into Apolyton. I made my account a looong time ago, before the merge. I left my account alone for over a year, and just recently took up posting again. I don't know WHY my account is so messed up in saying that its older than I am, but I really don't care, just as long as I am able to post. So can we PLEASE get back to the original topic of why I made this thread!

If you hear the noise of the aircraft you would look up to see what the noise is. Japan did not have radar either and the U.S. bomb them in 1942.
Are you asking that radar can not be discover until after aircraft is discover?

Well I guess... Radar was discovered after flight. However maybe I should change what I'm saying then. How about if you have planes, you can have them "on alert" or scouting, and they can see other planes (obviously). That way, the benifite with radar is that you don't have to devote your resources as much towards that. Well this is just my 2 cents, I'm sure all of you can put loopholes into it, but then again, that's civ for ya.

Well you never know. I've seen one screen shot, in which it looked as if there were deployed AA guns on the map, so maybe there is radar too. Don't count anything out just quite yet, I'm sure the Civ team has a few surprises!

Where I live I can hear jet aircraft up to 30,000 or more feet when outside. We are in the traffic pattern for Seattle, Portland, San Francisco flight, and maybe L.A. The plane are high enough that it is very hard to see the tail if at all. Most of the time you hear the noise look up and see this small silver item with almost no wings and watch the contrail.
