  • For CivII: the civs you voted on

Reading the thread about voting on civs that weren't in CivII reminded me that I had edited my rules.txt to add several of them. Feel free to cut and paste as much of this as you'd like.

I added the Phoenicians because Carthage was technically a Phoenician trading post first (sorry to ruin your fun, but the events in the Aeneid didn't happen), the Incans because I think they were a greater Native American Civilization than the Sioux, and the Turks and Arabs because it's embarassing that Civ hasn't included them already (heck, the Turks were in the beta of Civ 1; look in the instruction manual).

I also changed a few details about other civs, for instance renaming "Caesar" Julius. All the Julio-Claudian emperors were "Caesar," so now he has a name instead. I tweaked some others, too, . If you come up with a good female name for a Turkish or Incan leader, I'd appreciaate it. The encyclopedia had zilch on women rulers for those cultures.

(The Incas are already in the list)
Those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it. And perhaps everyone else, too.

  • #2
I've made modpacks for North and South America, Africa, Europe, Asia, and the Mediterranean, including many rulers and city lists for various civs. For some I was unable to find a second (usually the woman) ruler, others are complete and ready to add to a rules.txt. From memory (I can edit this when I get the chance at home), I have rulers and cities for (not already in the game):

    N. AMERICA
Maya, Iroquois, Seminole, Huron, Navajo, Ojibwe, Natchez, Eastern Woodlands / Northwestern / Western Indians (tribe names for cities), Hillbillies (for fun), and colonial English, Spanish, French, Dutch

    S. AMERICA
Inca, Guarani, Muisca, Paez, Chibchan, Tirio, Arawak, colonial Spanish, Dutch, Portuguese, English, others

    AFRICA
Ashanti, Mali, Ethiopians, Senegalese, Malagasy, Congolese, Swahili (ya, ya, not a civ, used east african peoples for city names), Boers, colonial French, Portuguese, English

    ASIA+
Hmong, Siamese, Assyrians, Hittites, Byzantines, Turks, Hawaiians, Fijians, Maori

    MEDITERRANEAN
Phoenicians, Cretans (yes, I have them separate), Etruscans, Hebrews
The first President of the first Apolyton Democracy Game (CivII, that is)

The gift of speech is given to many,
    intelligence to few.
