I originally wouldn't use them in Civ2, but recently Ive used them a lot, mainly because I found them fun. Usually though I'd rather not use nukes.

I didn't voted because I didn't find my option which is:

whenever and if it's needed I'll nuke. It's all about how the game progresses and what I must or must not do in order to win.

But the vast majority of times I don;t need to nuke anybody so I don't.

Since most civs didn't nuke me if I didn't nuke them it never seemed as a good idea. All that re-building takes a lot of time that I could use bombing his cities with bombers instead

personally, i use nukes as a regular part of my arsenal.

even if i have no land troops near an enemy, i'll just send a sub over and nuk 8 of their key cities, knocking out half their pop, messing up their roads/irragation, and making all that pollution.

i then yell at them for not cleaning it up.

oh, when you fight humans, if they group sea units, its fun to nuke them over the ocean (no side effects)

I once destroyed the largest nation on the planet who had a military twice my size by nuking every city and sending a mech inf around to each one.
Destruction is a lot easier than construction. The guy who operates a wrecking ball has a easier time than the architect who has to rebuild the house from the pieces.--- Immortal Wombat.

nukes are the great equalizer. play the ww2 scenario and cheat, and give the turks nukes. not just the tech, literally give them like 20 nuke units.

then watch them slap the nazis around.

I launched a arsonal of Nukes on every city in the world that I could see. The world population was cut in 1/2 and my eniemies were soon destoried. There is no denying that the Nuke is the most deadly weapon in the game.

Looks like about 50% of the people like paying rivals back for long bad realitions.

Since most of the civilizations I play against stab me in the back and declare war on me or eventually demand some sort of tribute or ally against me- I usually fight every civ.

Thus, to even the anger, I nuke every civs' capital city as soon as I can.

This greatly increases my enjoyment of the game and even when there is global warming I have no worries because none of my cities ever reaches above size 15.

It is amazing how something a civ did 1000 year ago can still give you the will to Nuke them. I think it should send a strong message to other civs when someone breaks a treaty and attacks you and than the civ who betried you suddenly doesn't have very many people anymore.

I voted Never, however, it would have been nice to have a 'Never in Random type games. But Always in Scenarios that promote Nuclear Halocaust' (IE World War 3 scenarios)

My civ2 strategy was always to build loads of engineers to transform the landscape. Once complete I would build enough nukes to take out all of a civ's city based armies and invade every city with an engineer. On the same turn I could clear up most if not all the pollution produced with the said engineers.

                            Environmentally friendly, deadly and efficient.

Ya in CTP I actually cleaned up the mess I made by Nukeing this one city. I hope CIV3 shows the fear of an eniemy who has nukes when you don't. Knowing that they could destroy your whole army and civilization with the push of a botton leaving you defensless is a scary thought.
