by the way, incase you couldn't tell, i am in no way affiliated with Firaxis, and my release dates are purly estimations of what i see happening.

Of course everybody wants a finished copy in December and not a piece of crap in an earlier month. I would rather have a finished copy in March than an incomplete copy in an earlier month. I'm pretty sure most people would agree with me.
However, it is difficult to believe that 2 times 2 does not equal 4; does that make it true? On the other hand, is it really so difficult simply to accept everything that one has been brought up on and that has gradually struck deep roots – what is considered truth in the circle of moreover, really comforts and elevates man? Is that more difficult than to strike new paths, fighting the habitual, experiencing the insecurity of independence and the frequent wavering of one’s feelings and even one’s conscience, proceeding often without any consolation, but ever with the eternal goal of the true, the beautiful, and the good? - F.N.

If they release betas within 1 - 2 months we all pay full price then we report back tell them bugs that way they have 3 million playtesters so practically no bugs. They release patches over internet or in shops. Or If you dont want to do that you just wait till next spring.

This poll is wrong. Everyone is going to vote for Dec with a good game.

What the poll should read is:

                a) October no matter what
                b) December with some bugs
                c) Whenever the game is done

This would actually make people think about their decision. I would vote for whenever the game is done but can some people wait til next May, I would have to say no and so these people would vote for Oct or Dec.

I have civ2, Civ III is what I'm after.

No major bugs, bugs in peripheral areas I can deal with. As long as it doesn't affect gameplay.

Only seven percent voted for the beta, I'm surprised. I'm not a programmer, but I'd *love* to play the beta for Firaxis. Firaxis, you listening? Dan? Jeff?
