  • OMG, theyre strategizing already

Looking at the colonies thread, i am struck by how we'all are already starting to spec out strategies. I realize this is a necessary part of evaluating and discussing the proposed changes, but im still a little unhappy. Having come to civ2 relatively recently. iwas hoping that with civ3 (assuming it runs on my old PC ) i would be present at the beginning, and be able to improve right along with the rest of the civ community. but it seems I'll have to start following strategy discussions NOW to do that.

well, I suppose those who were great champions in civ2 will be quite the winners in civ3 as well... I wonder what EyesOfNight thinks about CIV3.... erm, I suppose it's an 'equalizer' already

Youre kidding right? Eyes wont like civ3 because you actually have to build city improvements to grow the city...............

Yeah, they are beginning to talk strategy but it is all guess work. Until we get the game, we will have no idea of whether these strategies will work. Instead the current discussion only contains what Firaxis has already said - defend colonies, explore fast, and kill the ai's trade network. Not very in depth nor very helpful in ploting how I will play Civ III.

Don't worry...everybody is just speculating...and building theories on the speculation. Some will prove to correct, others wrong. Not until we get a copy of the game in our hot little hands will we really be able to develop theories and strategies that are fully consistent with the game design.
