but the bad news (for me) is that its going against SimCity 2000! (2 game that I both love to death!)

Why did you vote for civ3? It's as much an annoyance as it is a joy. singleplayer gets boring real fast and MP hardly ever works
lots of stuff is just plain unreasonable.
still, we love it. kinda like mothers... they keep nagging about all the potential unused, everything that could be, but they love u regardless.
        i'm beginning to get old...

Well SimCity 2000 is not selling any units now a days is it? Does it have an active fan site?

because civ3 is a great game, that's why we voted for it. No one has even heard of FF: tactics.

It might fail against sim city 2000. But I have never played it, so I would vote Civ3 again.

But I see Civ3 up against some game I have never heard of. So the choice was obvious. Yep, you guessed it, I voted for the game I never heard of

Are you really so stupid as to not be able to keep track of which insipid things you have said in which threads?

CIV3 got 3,381 votes. But have you checked out the opposition:

                DOOM 10,268 (86%)
Granted it was up against a 1994 Mac game, but that doesn't bode well for the future.

                  civ3 won't get that far.

next round, assuming it takes SC2k, its up against either GTA-VC or Metal Gear Solid. Tough draw.

Yeah those games will have most of their players on the net. I am not so sure about civ3 crowd.

It's the same thread. I don't see why you have to call me stupid.

I don't see any contradiction. The smilie should be an indication of what I meant.

I'll stop posting in this thread if that will make you happy. I'll even stop posting in civ3-general. I didn't realize there was such bigotry here.

It matters not to me if anyone post or leaves, but the fact that someone took umbridge with ones post has nothing to do with bigotry.

Warning: totally biased and unsubstantiated comment to follow, all liability excluded and responsibility denied

While quite likely to be true, I like to think it's because Civ3 requires intelligence and subtle strategy rather than just "stick 'em up, bang bang" type of play.

That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it, even in the face of evidence to the contrary that anyone may care to provide

Plus those who play civ are a little less likely to be trawling the Net voting on polls and a bit more likely to be setting policy, doing world-class research and creating new enterprises.

Oh, and actually PLAYING Civ in their freetime.

well, civ3 may win against simcity2000, but it will eventually fall when it is matched up against more popular games.

and why exactly civ3? i mean, they had a sort of 'qualifying' round only with sid's games, and civ3 won, i'm aware of this, but i thought that civ2 would fare better than it did.
I watched you fall. I think I pushed.
