  • Higher Difficulty Games

I've just started playing higher level difficulty C3C games, and I was curious if anyone had advice specific to how a *Demigod/Deity/Cid game* is played well. I have multiple decent strategies good to around emperor level, and I have looked inside my editor and know what the basic changes to the variables are in higher level games.

This knowledge hasn't kept me from being pasted by the middle ages, even when I've gotten "lucky" in terrain, luxury placement, having my AI opponents being placed in deserts, arctic waste, etc.

Commentary? Or, if this topic has been addressed on another thread recently, a redirect would help, too.

There are a few old thread on deity for Civ and maybe PTW, but it is too soon for C3C. Many players held back after the gold bug and corruption was discovered. Waiting for the patch that just came out.

So I suspect it will take a bit for any definitive techniques to be posted.

The only current-going advice is, don't expect your FP to save you any more and expect to AI to want your neck more than usual

...and that applies to ALL levels
It's all my territory really, they just squat on it...!
She didn't declare war on me, she's just playing 'hard to get'...

I have not loaded my copy of Conquests yet. I will probably do so and download the patch next weekend. I gather from what I have read that some of the standard diety level strats will be more difficult to implement.

No more 40 turn research gambits? No more disconnect your resource and build cheap units followed by mass upgrade gambits? Well, something will come up.

I guess I thought more people had the patch already. Or is there a post-beta patch coming out which will supercede the one I've already been running from?

Everybody will need some time to digest, I suppose.
