  • You might be a civ addict if...

    Anyone know where I can find the "you might be a civ addict when" threads?

    your best bet would the old Civ3 General-Archive and Civ3 PTW-Archive forums...

    But I could find one in the Civ3 General-Archive for you:

    I watched you fall. I think I pushed.

      Well Alex, that thread isn't accepting any new posts (or maybe I just tried at a busy time).

      I was listening to the radio several months ago and they were disscussing the Chinese Space Mission. I thought to myself, "The Chinese have built the Apollo Program".

      Then, the radio host says something like, "The Chinese are nothing if not Industrious." I immediately thought, "Yeah, and Militaristic, but fortunately they have a low Aggression Level."

        Another sign that you might be a Civ Addict:

        When the family pet leaps from one's lap to another and you yell-out, 'Culture Flip'. And you are either happy or sad depending upon the direction of the 'leap'.

          ... if you remember the seemingly infinite number of previous threads

          ... if you said "there, said it first this time! hah!" after saying that

              If you have crushed up pure civ, boiled it down to it's distilled state and then slammed that baby home.

                      This probably belongs in off topic, but it seems to fit.

                      You're an addict to forums in general if when you dream your dreams come across in the form of posts in a forum...

                      Instead of a normal dream, you see a forum where everyone in the dream is represented by nicknames and you follow the dream by reading the posts...

                        You know your an addict when you keep files and directories organized on the work file server with business-like titles such as: "Network Infrastructure Proposal" or "Call Center Organization Chart" but the files are really Civilization ideas that you plan on posting later when you get home.
                        Haven't been here for ages....

                          Yes, it is in the archive, that's why it doesn't accept new posts.

                          But let's revive this thing...

                          You're addicted to civ when...

                          - your wife tells you "the dinner is ready" and you groan something like "damn this domestic advisor";

                          - you've heard the news about Saddam Hussein captured and you thought "hmm, he must have a settler somewhere";

                          - you think that the most efficient way of getting your lunch readily available to you is by whipping the chef;

                          - you think that Gandhi was a SOB and a treacherous bastard.
                          I watched you fall. I think I pushed.

                              - you try to click on screen shots as if it were an actual game in play.

                              ... not that I've ever done that.
