  • Accelarated Production

    Dear Apolyton Community,

Accelarated production - what effect does this feature have ?

I am sure it's self explanatory but I would like to know the details.

    Any help appreciated.

    Merry Christmas

The Civilopedia (ctrl-C) probably covers this pretty well. Look under Game Concepts.

Quick answer is that both production and food only need half as much as usual, probably commerce too (science-wise).

Upgrades are also cheaper. With Leo's upgrade only cost 7 gold for each increment.

I have two problems with AP.

            (1) Move rates aren't doubled as well.
            (2) Why not just play a smaller map? In fact, a smaller map will be faster and better handled by your computer too

Options are always nice to have, and have potential modding uses.

AP has NO modding use. If you were modding something, you would change the cost in the editor.

Of course, if you're after a very quick game you can play AP on a Tiny map

AP could well be used so that your contacts and first wars etc with civs are where you are both at a higher state of military readiness and/or tech level. This can be kinda fun if you meet civs when none of you have the capacity for much fighting, and you're itching for a little 'border dispute'.
