Why does it say on the front page that it was worth $1,200? Was it a daily double?

I believe Jeopardy recently increased the amounts of their clues.

Good news for Cid Maiyer. Now, if Apolyton could make it into Jeapordy...
        I hope this happens

I liked Jeopardy more back in the 60's when it started.
"And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you—ask what you can do for your country. My fellow citizens of the world: ask not what America will do for you, but what together we can do for the freedom of man." -- JFK Inaugural, 1961
"Extremism in the defense of liberty is not a vice." -- Barry Goldwater, 1964 GOP Nomination acceptance speech (not George W. Bush 40 years later...)
          2004 Presidential Candidate
2008 Presidential Candidate (for what its worth)

my high school chemistry teacher was on Jeapardy. He was a 4 time champion. We watched one of the episodes he had on tape in class one day.

I'd do the same thing if I won on jeapardy.

actually he only showed it after we begged and pleaded with him to show it.

                        Your post is hilarious, SG.

You shoulda heard my fiancee explaining the PTWDG to my sisters at Thanksgiving!!

Great post SG. And how true!

I heard Jeopardy that night. I was in the shower - and my partner was watching it. She yelled out - "Hey, there was a question about Civilization just on. And the woman got the answer." She was proud of her gender - sort of in a " see what we have to go through" kind of way.

And to answer the question above - yes, the dollar value of the questions on Jeopardy have been doubled.

And to Sid and Civ ....
Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war .... aw, forget that nonsense. Beer, please.

My wife and I came to an understanding about Civ III. I uninstall it and she doesn't have to sleep alone anymore

                              I miss that game though
