  • Nuking Retaliation

I'm in a game where there are 7/16 civs left. Huge map, thousands of units in a world war and it chaos. I've just taken the arab's 2 main cities. There turn comes up and I here this rumbling and bam, i'm hit with 4 out of 6 launched arab icbm's. 2 were intercepted by sdi defence. If i nuke them back would that hurt my relations with the other civilizations in game ?

It seems like i'm in the right to nuke the arabs into the stone age for what they did. I'm at work so I didn't get a chance to retaliate, but I can't stop thinking about getting them back.

If you START a nuc war, most/all civs you are not allied with or are already fighting your 'victim' will declare war against you. Since you did not start it, you should be safe -- retaliate at will.

(but just in case, save the game just before you launch)

You can nuke them, but don't nuke any of their allies.

The allies are celebrating as the arab regime falls. We nuked them to the stone age and then nuked them once more to make sure they were dead. The clean up is under way,

            Well done.

We've all had that feeling "why am I at work when I have serious business in Civ to attend to" feeling.

Wasn't it expensive to nuke the second time? Those ICBMs aren't cheap...
            Haven't been here for ages....

Just remember that if the enemy tries to nuke you but all their nukes are intercepted by SDI, if you retaliate your rep will be killed and everyone will hate you.

there was a long stalemate, i had about 100 units more than the next civ, game was over 40 years ago, as i reached 2050 but i don't play it for the scores so i'm still going. out of 16 civs there are 4 left now. I love war .

Reminds me of one of my favorite tactics:

                      1. If it moves, shoot it.
                      2. If its not moving, shoot it until it does.
                      3. Repeat.
