I have a couple custom maps i want to see played out to see if i need to make any adjustments. I'd love to be able to play them with all CPU controlled civs, no human. Is this possible and, if so, how?

Can you run a game without ANY human players?

If you select the scenario tab in the editor, then select the scenario properties option you will end up with this screen. Click the box for debug mode, save the scenario, and then load it as a scenario when you start the game.
Note this screenshot is from Conquests, but the screen is roughly the same for PTW, just not with as many other options. If you only have vanilla Civ3 (i.e. with neither of the expansions) then there is no option for the debug mode (as far as I know).Last edited by Rhothaerill; November 23, 2003, 10:40.

Can you play the game without a human player? I didn't think that you could. If you can, great! If you can't, a common approach to test your mod is to place a one tile island somewhere out of reach until Navigation at the earliest. Have the human start on the one tile island. When the game starts, just set your city to build wealth and turn research off. You'll never be bothered by builds / tech discoveries, and you can observe the AIs in action through debug without influencing their play in any direct way (since they won;t disvoer you until late, and they can't destroy you until nearly the modern age (unless the vikings get frisky).
