  • Windows XP compression of .sav files

When I try to compress CIVIII .sav files using Windows XP Home, they do not show up in the compressed folder, while it seems any other file will work with this compression utility. Has anyone else tried/seen this?

Yes it does not like that and using the send to will give you an empty folder. I am in XP PRO. Try something like RAR.

Weird. What does it not like about .sav files, I wonder? What is RAR?

Does it compress compressed biq files or uncompressed autosaves?

Yes you can compress biq files. I don't know about autosaves as I play with it off.
I don't have WinRar on this machine to try it.

What are the limitations imposed on the trial version of WinRAR?
