In a couple of cases I have attacked an enemy city and when I take it all the rest of the cities for that civ go bust. Is this a design feature or a bug? I'm using version 1.27.

Yes, djconklin, it WAS extreme for you to set up the game that way!
It's mainly for multiplayer

That is indeed a good way of using those kings. I dont think the AI has been optimized to use all the new victory conditions, so its a bit unfair giving yourself an advantage the AI doesnt know how to use.
Am I right in my assumption? Has anyone seen AI behaviour that would show it focusing on the victory conditions?Safer worlds through superior firepower

Possibly unfair. But, then agian, when the AI "magically" (seemingly so) upgrades all the techs (and units) of the surrounding civs to what you are at ...I dont think the AI has been optimized to use all the new victory conditions, so its a bit unfair giving yourself an advantage the AI doesnt know how to use.
One thing I have noticed is that the surrounding civs have a whole lot less cash on hand than I do, very odd.
