  • My idea for F4 revamp

In order to make the Diplomacy interface (F4) work with more than 8 civilizations, I suggest that it be revamped so that when you click on a leader, his face goes to the center of a 15 face circle. This way clutter is reduced but the content of the information remains clear.

    Sound good?

Looks like a good idea, but a way should be found to have readable lines between two Civs at the opposite of the circle. If we only have straight lines, some of them will go beneath your own circle, and they could be confused.

    But otherwise, it sounds good

I think they will need a table with cols and rows to show all of th civs. It may be that we need it to have tabs. One for treaties, one for trade. Then a table. It could be a see all at one glance.

You misunderstood me, only the lines for the leader in the center are displayed. When you click on a leader that isn't you, your picture moves to his spot, and his face goes to the center.

          That's an excellent idea actually

What I am thinking is we need 24, not 16. Maybe even 31 as it can be setup to use that many civs.
If your plan can handle that, then great.

              hi ,

well they could get smaller pics , maybe squares for each civ and let the player also use option two ; a cirkel with up to 16 civs around the main human player , ......

but lets wait and see whats in C3C , ...... we could have something new , ....

              have a nice day

That gets rid of the ability that exists now to select multiple leaders and so get a better picture.

I do not understand what you mean by "select multiple leaders". When I click on a face around the ring in my vanilla Civ3 ver1.29f, all I see are lines radiating from that one face.

For example, if I click on Alexander, I see his MPPs, RoPs, alliances. I don't see what deals Caesar has with Bismarck (unless they have an alliance against Alexander).

Please explain what you mean by this "select multiple leaders"

By holding down the “shift” key, and clicking additional leader heads, you are able to see which deals “radiate” from each leader you have clicked. Using your example, once you hold shift and click on Caesar you can see all the deals he has, in addition to Alexander. And once you shift-click on Bismarck you can see all three civs deals at once, and so on.
