  • I have forgotten the little tip

I have forgotten the tip to move dozens tanks and ships avoiding to move them singularment.

When several dozens of units are involved ( bombardiers, ships, tanks etc.. ) in the modern age,I mean.

Which was the trick to move them ?

Was there any chanche to group them ?

    Thanks

In PtW, on the lower right hand side of the screen, above the box which identifies which unit is active, there is a tab containing three transparent squares. Clicking that tab allows you to move all the units at once. Next to it is a tab with three squares and one darkened. Clicking that tab allows you to move all units of a certain type (say, only tanks) at once while leaving the others in place.

Civ 1.29 also has this (probably added in an earlier patch but).

Ctrl-J to start a goto move for the whole stack - note that only Active units will do this, so fortified units won't move.

Also note that if a unit has finished it's move in the stack (no more movement points that turn) it will get the goto command next go - so do your stack moves first in general to avoid this problem.

Cruddy, I'm sure you meant to say that ctrl-J will enable movement of all units of the same type as the active unit, not necesarily the entire stack.

I would add that all types of units can be moved by this command, including workers. Very handy when cleaning up pollution or clearing forests.

J for the same type of units.
                CTRL+J for the whole stack.
                Fortified units will not move.

                  Thanks mates.

In this way it happens that you can move all the units, but you have to watch let's say 30 tanks moving.

It could be nice if in Conquest you had a special icon that rapresents 10 units,in this way you could move 10 tanks in 1 click and above all you have to see 1 tank moving, that rapresents 10 tanks.

I hope to have explained myself.

The one click operations in PTW were one of the best enhancements to the late game for me. So much easier to get all that MA moved to the right spot.

                          That's the wrong way round.

                          It should be:
CTRL + J for the same type of units.
                          J for the whole stack.

If I'm posting here then Counterglow must be down.

I think that's the solution. I don't think he's talking about stack movement overall, so much as those times you do use the "move stack" function and are forced to watch 30 units (or whatever number) move onto a square one at a time.
