  • Atari

Well, was checking out a new game I had bought. Enter the Matrix to find out * shock* Atari has bought Infogrames. I don't know if this is old news, but I find that very interesting.

    Yes, pretty old.

Infogrames had the rights to the name 'Atari' and decided to change their name for the 'name recognition' factor. Implies that Infogrames had either bought out or merged with Atari.

        Atari has bought Infogrames

Actually it's just Infogrames changing their name. They bought the rights to use the Atari name, that's all.

The company we all remember as Atari hasn't existed for many years. The name just gets passed around other publishers who want to get instant recognition and a change of image.
If I'm posting here then Counterglow must be down.
