  • full sized whole map export

Is there a utility out there that would let me export the map from a BIX (or bic, sav...) entirely, to a graphic (ie, PNG)? I don't want a minimap. I would like an export of the full-sized map as it would look in the game where I could scroll around.

One example of one thing I'd like to do with it:
Civ3's map generator is a really good one, I'd like to use it to generate 362x362 maps, export them to a single graphic file, and then edit them in a paint program for use with a tabletop RPG.

I thought I saw one of these utilities existing before, being used to create maps for early C3DGs... But I can't find one now.

Is this what you were looking for?

It took me a while to find it, but I remember seeing it a long time ago.

Actually what I wanted was the opposite. It takes the sav/bic/bix file's map, and exports it to a graphic file -- with the tiles and tiles as they would look in Civ3.

Think of it this way, if you could have a screen resolution so big that you could fit the whole map on the screen at once (without zooming out even) and take a screenshot of it to save.

ah I see.... or a Monitor the size of a Stadium scoreboard on a high resolution

Your best chance is taking Screenshots of several portions and 'sticking' them together afaik as your map size is completely mental!!!!!

I'd become a basketcase trying to do that, especially on those 362x362 maps.

I'm sure it'd be not all too complicated a thing to program.
