Do you continue to play CIV3 after 2050 retirement?
yes , why not , you have spend 6050 years and then all of a sudden you give up
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is to tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger.” - Hermann Goering
“The nationalist not only does not disapprove of atrocities committed by his own side, but he has a remarkable capacity for not even hearing about them.”
— George Orwell
“The enormous gap between what US leaders do in the world and what Americans think their leaders are doing is one of the great propaganda accomplishments of the dominant political mythology.” - Michael Parenti
I almost always continue, but sometimes i quit, not because of score, but because further in the game the computer is to slow to playing.... He plays for many minutes.... Civ 2 was like that, Civ 3 is worst in that.
So get your Naomi Klein books and move it or I'll seriously bash your faces in! - Supercitizen to stupid students Be kind to the nerdiest guy in school. He will be your boss when you've grown up!

cheers
hi ,
cause when you are playing you dont need them , they use up cpu power , slow down other programs like the AI , ..... one does not need a firewall to play a game , .....
keep a simple firewall like zonealarm running in the background or esafe desktop when playing MP , ....
that all you need , ....
when playing a game you dont need to run adobe , paintshop , word , etc , ...... > seen it
Civ3 is a big undertaking and by 2050 the game is pretty played out so I usually never go over. Often did in Civ2, however...
"Show me a man or a woman alone and I'll show you a saint. Give me two and they'll fall in love. Give me three and they'll invent the charming thing we call 'society'. Give me four and they'll build a pyramid. Give me five and they'll make one an outcast. Give me six and they'll reinvent prejudice. Give me seven and in seven years they'll reinvent warfare. Man may have been made in the image of God, but human society was made in the image of His opposite number, and is always trying to get back home." - Glen Bateman, The Stand (Stephen King)

hi ,
that normal , the AI has to calculate and take in account all the new buildings , units , trades , etc , ...... things get more complicated , the higher the level , the more complexer the game , the more time the AI needs , ...
yet one way to cut that in two is simple , shut down firewall's and other security programs , close programs you dont need , do a defrag from time to time , ... etc , .....
more ram and space in the memory tend to help also , ....
