    have we done anything yet?

if they are already prepared enough that we can't do anything we will surely lose

they ahve a much better economy, the longer the war lasts, the more likely we will come out on bottom

we need to hit them fast, and we need to hit them hard

I think we have 12 Immortals down there?

+ 6 more arriving (in how many turns?)

if we can't hit them with that, we might as well pack up and go home, we aren't going to be doing anything here

(also note. they can attack us with chariots, and damage us, and than retreat)

Well- yes - that is one perspective. Another is that GS has rushed all their defenders to one city - which I suspect is the case - and we can beat our heads against that - or just move on and pick our time to attack. This will be messy and lengthy - I figure they are going with chariots and pikemen as their set-up.

GoW has now landed. RP is talking of joining in. I suspect we can still out produce them with our warrior pump approach - until we run out of money. (btw - it looks like Lego may be coming through with the loan.)

So - 20 turns earlier wouldv've been better - before Pikemen. I agree. But I for one believe we can still win this. Otherwise I would be advocating pulling out.

I am still willing to entertain a longer-term alliance with GS, but we would have to decide that soon. And it is getting more difficult to do it surreptiously as GoW has now landed.
Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war .... aw, forget that nonsense. Beer, please.

Well, I too think we need to start hurting GS - if we bypass Araia (or whatever it's called) because of it's possible defensive force, then fine...but we need to start pilaging roads and improvements (especially pillaging roads in the mountains so their chariots can't attack). Breaking GS's lines of communication between their cities will also improve our probability of success dramatically.

        hey poly is finally up.

I was hoping we had already attacked something.

what exactly happened? Did they get tipped off we were going to attack?

Well, I think having them see a ****load of Immortals coming down through the mountains and into their territory more or less told them what we are planning on doing.

But to answer your question Diss, so far it's only been units we've attacked and pillageing roads. Hopefully, Monsoon should be the first GS to fall if not next turn, then the turn after.

I see Poly is back up. I have caught up on reading but I am late for work so not much thought until tonight.

Regarding whether or not the GS iron is connected. In the 630 BC save it is roaded. The terrain shows 2 commerce which can only happen with a road. Because of the black we can not see the connection to the other tiles. I think Hurrican is next to the iron so a road on the iron will connect it.l

              ya think?

I was thinking maybe we could have built a city south of Elipolis - and asked their observer to move. But that still would have only bought us 2 extra turns. The big kicker has been feudalism.

Oh well - let's see where we get to.

I just had an idea. could we try and stop their Iron from afar. We pillage the roads leading away from the Iron, not the Iron itself, which would be better, But they seem to have a lot of D-fense in those mnts. and only a few swordsmen on the Mt. NW of it.

We could aim for Hurricane as well. Let them hold the Iron, as long as it isn't connected to the trdae net. it won't matter
