  • What about Bob?

I am sending a picture that shows suggested city sites for Bob for discussion. Actual placement of course will depend on what the terrain is like.

The B1 site is on a hill and along the coast. We can see a bit of land below B1 so it looks like the land opens up there. B1 will provide a good anchor point for our defensive city line.

The B2 site has a couple of options. It depends on what terrain is in the area and where B3 goes. This would be the central city site for our piece of Bob.

The B3 site depends on the outline of the land. If the land is narrow then B2 may be the other end of the line and there may not be a B3. If the land extends up a little further than the B2A site would provide the anchor along that coast. If the land continues way north then the B3B
site provides the anchor along the coast to defend our little corner of Bob.

With this arrangement you can see why I wanted Ost to be a productive city that can provide unit support to these other cities.

There may not be time unless we re-vote now. The Ost settler was moved to the hill on the 1125 BC turn. If we change it we need to revote now before the next turn is played.

Why don't we have it both ways? - Wittlich Ost on the hill and the next settler builds a city north of Ost (with the cow and hills). This next city would be the production city for our cities on Bob.

I don't like putting cities one in from the coast. You can not build naval untils and you can not take advantage of the water tiles late in the game. Either hill location next to the cow would be close to the proposed B2 location(s). If B2 was moved it would reduce the defensive effectiveness of the proposed city line.
