  • Lessons from Lux

    We should take heed.

Mainly I'm talking about our city close to another nation. We need means of backing it up. I do support a colony to get Iron. We need at least on Immortal in the vicinitiy of Dissidentville and I recommend another Immortal in the vicinity of the Iron. And of course we need to finish roading up there.

This is the main objective I want to accomplish. Defending these 2 points.

We don't want to over extend ourselves like Lux.

Other than that, I'm sure we can handle ourselves better diplomatically than Lux. Until we have those Immortals I don't want to get pushy with GS.

I agree with the stance on GS.

In saying you agree with the colony - I take it to mean you agree on using a colony rather than a settler. We will in essence be wasting the colony when a city does go in there.

technical question - does the colony tile need to be roaded or just the adjacent tile. Makes a big difference.

Back to strategy though - I think geography is also our saving grace to a certain degree. I think we could defend Elipolis quite well, and keep an attacker out of North estonia if need be. Lux did not have this advantage.
Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war .... aw, forget that nonsense. Beer, please.

I concur. A lesson from Lux that we don't want to repeat is being beligerant towards other civs - especially the civ closest to us!

Concerning building a colony on the iron deposit - sure, but use the Lux worker! However, perferably I would rather just build a city near the eastern most iron. And when Dissidentville expands (after the temple is complete) than that would sow-up that (western)deposit.

A colony is built already with a road in it...so we'll only have to build a road up to the colony's tile.

I never used colony's much. But yes I think the road is almost up to the Iron already. We should connect it by road anyways to better defend it.

GS would consider multiple immortals agressive

notice that they have no attack troops in our site

True, but that doesn't mean we should not build them - just leave them on our road network out of their sight.

Or better yet, garrisoned within our cities.

yes I was wondering whether to show them, or not to show them. I wouldn't show them too close to the edge of our territory regardless.

But if they still have that warrior up in our territory they may see them.

Irregardless they need to at least be stationed as far south as Elipolis.

I would garrison them within the cities to keep them hidden. Right now we do not really have a reason to be showing force. If we do, anyone seeing them may think they need to do the same, and that will only make us worry more.

                        agreed.

I would like our force to show up as average compared to the others.

Right now we are weak compared to everyone btw
