I just wanted to say hi now that I am a member of this esteemed group. I will spend time these next few days going through the threads to get caught up on the situation. I see you are still early in the game. That's good. Not too much to catch up on.

Welcome HH. I will send you recent screen shots so you can see the set-up. Please post your e-mail here. Actually - there is a spot in the thread of everything for e-mails. Either will do.
The FA thread is the heavy duty one. You can probably ignore a lot of the early stuff between us and Gathering Storm, our neighbours to the south (also affectionatley known as the Apolyton All-star team as they are loaded with experienced Apolyton Civ3 players - but hey - we ain't scared of them ). We got off to a rocky start, but are now on good terms with them and have reached border and trade agreements.
The rest of the civs are on a larger continent to our west - all except for Legoland, which is on an island by itself - further to the west we assume. The 4 civs on the continent seem to have a somewhat rocky relationship - but it is not clear yet as to the exact situation.
Any questions - just post them here and one of us will try and answer.
Again - welcome.Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war .... aw, forget that nonsense. Beer, please.

My e-mail has already been added to the top of the Thread of Everything. I would like to get screen shots but I would prefer a save (if possible). I am a hands-on kind of guy and I like to evaluate things. With a save I could look at all the F* screens, cities, units, and terrain, and get in and out when I have a question I want to check on.

Ok - it has not been our practice, but I am OK with it, unless someone (ie Jon) objects.
The one rule - use the proper method to load a MP game - ie through the MP screen - host - make sure Accel prod is off, load the save, etc. We are very committed to playing fairly, and given the possible game save cheat, we have agreed to open the save this way.
Jon made a pledge earlier on to the effect that we - the entire team - would play the game fairly.
I will forward the next game save onto you. I agree that it is difficult to comment on things - particularly the city build queues and tiles being worked by citizens, unless you open the save.Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war .... aw, forget that nonsense. Beer, please.

I have no problem with the rules about opening the save properly. I do want to play fair. I just like to try to see what kind of nuggets of info I can gleam from the game (just like how GS figured out Vox had IW earlier than expected).
I finished getting caught up on the rest of the threads this weekend, including all 19 pages of FA. I have something I need to finish up tonight but I hope to have time to start writing some messages. I gather that the save just came or is about to come to us. This would be a good time for me to take a look.

I forgot to put the password in the forwarded e-mail. There is a thread with the game password in it. Oporto it is.
it's easier to forward the game then update the thread of everything . I'll get to that though. Because a lot of techs have changed. And it is difficult to keep up with other nation's techs with all these trades we have done. I can verify if they have the same techs as us by bringing up the diplomacy window. If we can't offer them something, that means they already have it.

hey Harry
is there anything I can put you down to do or cover?
Jon Miller
I like to analyze data in the game and, to some extent, I micromanage my cities and workers when I play. As soon as I get the save I plan on reviewing the cities, workers, and terrain to make recommendations on those aspects of the game. At the moment it doesn't look like a military analysis is needed but I will probably do one.

Thanks for the save, Dis. I just spent most of the day trying to get it. For some reason Netscape 6.1 didn't like the message you sent. It treated the whole forwarded message with the save as a single attachment and would not let me save out the save. I even tried importing the message into Outlook Express but the old version I have couldn't read the mail from this newer version of Netscape. After an hour of that I just spent nearly four hours downloading and installing an update to Netscape 7.02. Finally I was able to save the save file. Looks like its time to make another pot of coffee. I am going to be up for a while tonight.
