Yes - forgot about this. The 'Skywalker' observation.

(for the new members wondering about this - go back a couple of pages and check Skywalker's thread on Invincibility.

    • Question - point of clarification. We are playing on Chieftain level I believe. So with a luxury connected, we are OK with city disorder at pop 4 without a garriosn. Right?

      • As far as I understand it, yes, that is correct Beta.

        • I was just about to push submit on this same post a few minutes ago when the g**d**n furnace came on - power spiked my computer - even with a new $80 surge protector installed, and it clicked off losing my first attempt at this post. And it is late. So this might be shorter.

800 bc turn played. Two turns to go. Sort of feel like a kid at Christmas time. Two more sleeps!!

GoW sent their world map. Bob pretty much the same. But we have some of Lego and other interesting bits. I will send the save tomorrow so everyone can take a look at the world. Password will come with the e-mail. Use proper load procedures please to avoid the bug.

Here's a screen shot of what we can see of Lego.

Here are this turns north and south screenshots:

Galley moved 3 tiles south. It's timing will be perfect.

Stack of Immortals moving south. Warrior produced in Miller Town moved as well. I figure it was better to get him south with the road intact - and upgrade in Dissidentville. Another warrior from the capitol follows, and a theird produced in Elipolis waits there. Along with the three southern warriors - that gives us 6 new Immortals very shortly.

Harry's Hideout is due to produce another warrior next turn. We will see if it gets changed.

The voice is producing a settler. 4 turns. May be 3 with the GA. It is producing 9 shields right now.

Miller Town is producing a spearman - 4 turns. Witt City also. 5 turns. May also be less with a GA. Elipolis spearman as well. 10 turns.

Dissidentville is set to pop rush again next turn.

We need to finalize the deal with GS asap. I will delay playing the next turn if necessary. We will find some excuse.

Engineering in 37 turns. Treasury at 289 plus 16 gpt.

And according to the mil.advisor - we still have the largest army in the world. Guess we surpassed RP this turn again.

          • And one more thing I forgot to mention - A GS worker and road are visible SE of Dissidentville.

            • I'm almost glad to see that worker... It means he's building a road towards us. Let's just hope it's to bring a settler and not a wave of troops... I like this road... We might take it someday...

              • That worker working on a raod bothers me...

                1. He could be buildihg a road for a future city site. Fine no problem there.

                2. He could be buildin a road to link our empires - but to what end? GS has a ****load of furs, we only have one incense, and GS's newest city also has incense. So there is no point. But fine, no major problem...just worrisome.

                3. He's building a road for a force of GS charioteers for a northward push while we are "busy on Bob." Problem!

                I just hope that it's #1 and not #3 (#2 is irrelevent).

But for some reason, I still find it worrisome just the same.

                    • Yes - I am OK with them coming nroth with chariots. They only have one way into Dissidentville, and we would make short work of them. I have been studying the map - and if they did try this - it would be to our advantage to have some Immortals in the jungle tile due east of D'ville. The when the positioned themselves two tiles away for the attack we could hit them. Or - they see us first and are forced to attack even odds into a jungle tile. Or - we pop rush walls in D'ville and tell them to bring it on. I ewould rather have them doing this than attacking immortals in the open plains further south.

Horses and iron. Find them and cut them. Then we are facing bowman and spearmen.

                        • I am with witt here on this worker, what is he doing? if you notice the road he is building does not connect with any road on the other side, it is a starter road.

                          • I think if went back and looked at the city site plan agreed to with GS - the roads probably match up with the cities. I don't foresee any nefarious intent. They don't have the army for it.

                            • 775bc turn played. I-1. Lock and Load.

It is getting late - so I may forget some things. note the letters to GoW and GS. I was just finishing the GS letter the first time when the machine went down again - half an hour down the tube. Argghh. The power supply on this sucker has gotta go. Or maybe it is the cooling fan.

To the turn - troop concentration moved to the collection point - one tile East of Elipolis. That stack consists of 13 immortals, 2 spearmen, two workers, and 2 warriors. Another two warriors follow. Kon and I agreed it was best to leave one spearman in Elipolis for now.

The good news was that HH finished its warrior, for a perfect 10 shield build. All cities except the voice are now producing spearmen.

Dissidentville- another spearman rushed. Out next turn, Pop down to size one but grows in 5 turns.

Galley with Harry and Mo in position for the insertion. Good luck guys. Stay alert out there.

Back at home, the worker has moved to road the tile for the settler.

Witt's Embassy built with GS. 37 gold. Screenshots show the details. Kon has prepared a map trying to layout the likely city locations.

Offered our world map to GS. I wonder if I should have accepted as well. Then they would accept it and feel compelled to send the cash. But if they suspect something is up - then they could stiff us on the deal. I just hope they don't send the deal back to us unaccepted - as we would then have to wait another turn to complete it. We will see.

Treasury at 306 less 37 equals 269. Plus 16gpt. We are now 6 units over the limit. The new city will help.

                              Ok here are the screenshots:

First the central part of the continent showing all the important stuff:

Then one of the Eye of the Strom when the embassy was built:

And one of the GS territory we can now see:

And my favorite. The diplomacy screen, with the advisor telling us that - The people of the Storm are annoyed with us. Just wait!!!!
