  • How do you guys feel about pop rushing?

    I just have to know. This isn't something we have discussed at all that I know of. I was thinking of pop rushing the barracks in millertown. I don't know what the latest stategy threads have said, but all the old ones said pop rushing was a good way to get a turn bonus.

    In any case it is something we can discuss in this thread.

    It is worth 20 shields. So we need to calculate the opportunity cost of the one pop point for the number of turns it will take to re-create himself. Also - if we are going to do it - we should do it when thebarracks has 20, or just under, shields left. If we wait until there are 12 or so left, I doubt it would be worth it.

    If it takes 10 turns for MillerTown to grow, and the pop point could produce 2 shield per turn, then it is break even, and not worth it.

    Generally pop rushing becomes 'economically' viable when the city is at either a plus3 or plus 4 food situation. And therefore it grows in 5 turns or less. IIRC, Miller Town was plus 2. Probably not worth it.

            yeah I doubt Millertown will be worth it, as I think barracks is down to 6 turns. And the very first time you pop rush you can get more shields.

              So - I think the poll will say yes - but that we agree to look at it on a case-by-case basis.
