Starting this thread is somewhat hypocritical, because what I want to talk about is the number of threads we use to discuss team stuff.
I personally liked the idea of a moves thread and a FA thread. We then use polls to determine things that we feel we need polls for, usually items for which there is not an obvious concensus in the first two threads.
We have the Thread Of Everything for reference, plus a few other odds and sods, like the new member thread, and valid separate conversation pieces like jons mini-essay on war with GS, but that was it. I found it worked well. Sometimes moves were discussed in FA, but generally its because they were related to the topic. The game itself was run on two threads.
Yesterday several new threads popped up, and I found it was difficult to follow the various discussions between the threads, as they are all clearly inter-related. It's not the technical issue of hopping between threads - I'm comfortable with that now - I just found the same discussion was going on in several threads. It got confusing as to what issue was being discussed where, and with a couple of us on-line at once, it made for a more awkward back and forth conversation. At least I found it did.
If moves and FA were getting too long, maybe we limit them to 10 pages and start a volume 2.
Now, if others are comfortable with the multi-thread approach, just say so and I will adapt. Or if there are other ideas, let's hear them. Thanks for listening.
