  • Vote on city position site

I think we are all in agreement on 3A. from the e-mail. I just want to make sure. We have a settler coming out next turn.

It will take 1 turn to get there, but another to actually build the city.

    I will look later

I think that we should definitely not waste a whale

and that we should build with overlap (And right off the road)

I need to get back to my computer (less than a week)

The whale is 2 tiles away from any possible city site. We'll need a temple to get it.

You know my view - 3A.

The whale is a bit far - but with the next city on the chokepoint, and then I think we try for one where the GS warrior is currently standing. It gets the wheat stalk, and will wipe out the jungle he is on.

Depending on how things go with GS, we can backfill up top later - and get the whales that way. ....

..hmmm I've been thinking about something here. Gotta get my tea, let the idea develop, and I'll post it back on the moves thread.

I am just thinking that we should build a city which can get it

But as Eli pointed out - the only way that would work - in the short term, is to put it on the east coast - one of the three plains squares. It will take a minumum of three moves for the settler to get there, and the we would gain the whales when the city bumps up, but in the meantime we are surrounded by plains tiles which only pump out one food unimproved. I think the short term cost would be too great.

I think we should get it with our fourth or fifth city - and maybe even our third (bit of a rethink here) by laying down a city in the woods square two tiles to the south east of the city. Yes - just the other side of the two tiles with game on them. The Voice could work the tiles to the west, including the cows and fishes and all the plains squares, and this one could use the tiles with games and expand to get the whales. Corruption will be minimal. We will have a core of three cities to work the peninsula. All three on the lake - and one on a coastal square.

We may want a worker to harvest the forest before we build there though.

                Anyways - just some thoughts.

and don't forget we still want cities on the coast that can build ships. So in the future I do vote we build a city that can utilize the whales. But that can wait a bit.
