  • Do you think trading mini-maps is OK?

This is the first poll - to determine how our team feels about trading mini-maps. Do you think it is OK, or do you think it is not within the intent and spirit of Pbem?

My sense is that others are doing it. See Spain's latest note.

If the team's position is against it, then I will leave it up to jon to do as he sees fit - ie should it be raised in a public forum.

If the team is in favor, then the results of the next poll will determine how we respond to Spain's specific request.

No from me. This is almost the same as trading territory maps, and civs should have to meet each other in the game first in order to do it. And then do it through the game via a trade of maps.

I appreciate that discussing roughly where you are - as we have been doing - is somewhat along the same lines, but it does not attempt to replace a game function outside the game. And it is all more amusing chit chat than anything. We know we will run into another civ sooner or later.

    Let the game rules rule.

      I agree on no.

We can describe the general layouts of our continents to each other. Hell we shouldn't technically be able to do it until we actually meet and have the ability to draw maps. We don't have the ability to draw maps yet .

I know others are doing it, but I really want to wait a few more turns.

So I'm kind of undecided. If everyone else is doing it then we might as well go ahead and do it. But I really want to know where we stand. And at least get that first settler out. And lay claim to our territory.

Diss - it looks like we agree - but then the vote is 1 to 1. Or are you saying that in theory it is OK, but not right now?

I agree with you about meeting and map-making.

yeah in theory, but not right now.

Yes I crumble to peer pressure. If everyone else is doing it I'm tempted to do it. But I still think its too soon.

Manifest Destiny I say. We need to lay claim to our entire continent

I hear you about peer pressure, and if every one else is doing it. I would hate for my sense of ethics to put us at a material disadvantage if everyne else is doing it.

It's too bad that this wasn't discussed and agreed upon prior to the game.

And I still say its a bad thing. Not at all within the intent of the game itself.

I say yes, because if everyone else does it to then no one has an advantage
