  • On the game you are all involved with (as Babylon)

I didn't reall care much what was going on there...

but after reading your peoples threads, I am intrigued

did one team just quit the game?

that is so much illmanners... and basically ends the game there (unless they were tiny, and inconsequential)

I would hoep that as Vox, none of you would ever consider such a thing...

if their is cheating, we will overcome it, or fight the good fight in the face of it

if their is *******ness, we fight the good fight

no matter what we won't allow our spirits to be conquered, we will never give up, never surrender

Yes, it appears that a team made up of Aqualung and Moonbars has called it quits. This game provides a lot of provocation to encourage people to just want to leave. I have a hard time judging them too harshly since we are not all wired the same way.

I am like you and somehow just cannot quit. I feel like I owe it to the opposition to give them a good fight to the death.

A difficulty with that approach in this particular game is that one particular team taunts the people that they beat and humiliates them afterwards. There was a really nauseating spectacle of public celebration and taunting after the first team was put out of their misery.

I would like to think that it is merely a lack of class and sportspersonship rather than something intentional, but it is there.

yeah, I don't like it when people lack sportsmanship

but I try to make it so that I don'tlack sportsmanship, since I think that is one of the most important parts of playing a game

I just don't want our game to have similiar occurances as in your current game

jon - no worries there. I am hanging on to a two-city island in ptwdg2, and still scheming.

I agree that we would never quit a game.

That being said, you would have to had gone through this entire demo game experience to appreciate the situation and the dynamics. I cannot judge DR too harshly either for their decision. What does pi$$ me off is tha they did not wake up and smell the roses sooner, when their actions could have made a difference, and helped defeat BOH. I think Aqua's long-standing friendship with Paddy kept him from fully committing to a Babylon-led alliance, and in the end, it would seem that Paddy used that connection with Aqua to sneak attack them. That is why Aqua was so discouraged with the game.

You need to know that Paddy, and a lot of other members of BOH have seriously burnt some bridges at Poly. I had my experience with Paddy earlier - and although very disappointed in him - I have basically just ignored him unless we have a reason to write BOH. And those are becoming fewer and fewer.
Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war .... aw, forget that nonsense. Beer, please.

Jon this is by far the worst demo game I have been in at Poly for sportsmanship.

Its a whole new crew out there, and a lot of the new group just isn't playing sportsmanlike.

I'm glad to have such a bad experience in my first demogame. It can only improve in the next game. yes, that's sarcastic a little.

Snoopy -- the game really went downhill after your civ was bumped out. I'm sure DR wishes they had partnered with you guys against the Horde.

I cannot count how many times I have wished that the Euphoricans were still around. This game could always use the touch of class that they carried with them. I actually think that some of the Horde realize what a great mistake that they made.

GB, no need to kiss Snoopy's a$$. If you want him to carry the book you finished writing, The Golden Bear Chronicles, simply ask him - that's all. I think we all know that Snoopy owns a book store...or is a buyer or something...
