  • GhengisFarb's Latest Idea

So, have any other Voxtavians received this missive from Ghengis?

To sum it all up, here is what I have received so far:

    First Email:

    PTWDG Council of Eight
I want to start a UN type organization that would be done in a parody of the so called Iluminati. Two members from each of the teams that represent the historical power families of that team. We won’t actually have any power, but I think it would be fun to roleplay in the main forum. I am looking to find two representatives from Lego, Vox, ND, and GoW. Roleplay and GS won’t be included as they are considered to Rogue and uncontrollable by this Council of Eight. I figure we have a Council of Eight with the Illuminated Guide (leader) who casts tie breaking votes (me initially). This way any attempt to join by GS and Roleplay will result in a tied vote (Vox/Lego vs ND/GoW) and I cast the deciding vote.

Are you interested? If so, give me a quick idea of your history as I am going to make up a post so that each members history is in the first post of the thread.
    My Reply:

    Hi Ghengis,

Interesting idea you have...but wouldn't this just aggrivate both GS and RP (more than they currently are) - fuel the flames sort-of-speak? Have you heard from Lego and ND yet? What is their take on it?

I understand that you're just trying to add some more spice the game...but it just seems, to me, that it would only lead to GS and RP viewing the game as, well, one sided...

What are your thoughts on this?

    - Wittlich of Vox

    And Ghengis' response:

Sort of, but I think Roleplay and GS are pretty much doomed at this point anyway. Lego has said okay as long as we don't attack GS and Roleplay. Which I don't plan to with this.

This is supposed to be 2 members from each team discussed the worlds events as if we PLANNED them. Sort of like we are manipulating all that happens.
So what do you all think of this "twist"? Also, has any other member of Vox Controli received this missive from Ghengis? Or am I the only one...and if so...Why?

Oh well, it was worth the try - I noticed that if I started a new thread in our forum, the option for attaching a file is given ... Alas... it is a dead end endevour with nothing to show for your effort but a big red X! ... Well, like I said, it was worth the try.

Yes - he contacted me as well. I asked if Lego and ND were on-side as well. But Witt, you make an excellent point above. I think it would add to the 'aggravation' level some are already feeling. And heh, this game is a long way from being over. I for one want to see how the world political scene unfolds. We may not want to 'harden' our alliances at this point - other than our close ties to Lego of course.

Maybe I will contact Lego and see what they think.

I didn't receive it, but I agree it would probably put even more strain on the current aggravation level.

It's kind of a bummer that some people are quitting the DG's because of the flamewars currently going on. I realize that some of what has been said in the main forum is a bit 'over the top', but some people on certain teams need to step back and realize it's a game. Oh well.

          vondrack's response.

          RE: GF's Illuminati
          Hi, Beta!

I have mixed feelings about this... I agree it would quite likely add to the animosity in the public forum - which is something I'm trying to avoid. Honestly, I'm not excited about the idea, nor about the possibility of my involvement in the Council of Eight. I'm no good in roleplay (and have little time to) and I do not believe it would help anything. Things are bad enough as they are - it will need time to "heal the wounds". Creating a body further separating GS and RP form the rest of PtWDers... no, better not. We'd rather need something bringing them together with the rest of us again.

And - agreed about the rest of your PM, too. The timing would be pretty poor.

          Cheers,
          vondrack
So - it looks like there is concensus. Witt, you or I should tell GF that Vox is not interested.

This is the response I sent back to GF:
            --------------------------
            Hi Ghengis,

I've discussed your idea with the rest of Vox.

The consensus is that this "Council of Eight" would just lead to further heartburn/animosity between GS/RP and the rest of the teams. With this in mind, at this time, Vox is not interested in being a part of an endevour (however noble it is) which has a high likelihood of alienating other teams.
