    I will have finished my finals by this time a week from now

    I have only been checking in here occasinoally (and recently, with the game problems even less)

    can we ahve a sort of updatde on how everthing is going?

      Basic summary.

      We are still in Depostism. We are at war with GS. GS has a good defense that looks like it will be too tough to crack without help. We lost about half of our main force. We are pulling the others out but they are getting hit by catapults. They may get taken out before they can reach safety. GS built the Great Lighthouse using shields they were storing up with a palace build and then got a Great Leader from attacking our units. Just before the crash they were waying in the public forums that they built Sun Tzu's using the leader. GS has two galleys sitting off the east coast near our iron.

      GoW and RP are sending help. Lego is helping financially. ND has not committed (nor offered?). We are trying to get horses from ND. It will take a little while for GoW and RP to get units across. Bummer. Looks like the action will happen about the time I start a lengthy vacation.

        Yup - that's about it. But we have only lost 5 immortals - oh yes 6 if you inlcude Mo. And one spearman.

        We have 11 or so ready for upgrade. Another gallley out next turn. And we need to decide on a harbor or not in Wittlich.

        ALSO - we need to find out what happens when we get feudalism. Can we still build Immortals - or will we have to build med inf for more cash to upgrade - but teh same strength.

        If yes - we should build a mess of warriors now - and then get feudalism. And then build Pikes.

        Does anyone know the answer to this?

        And we need to decide on a governement. It is going to take GoW and RP a bit to get troops across. Do we want to change governments?

          I say build the harbor in Wittlich City. We need at least one harbor for trading with the other civs after all.

          Concerning a government change, I would prefer changing to Monarchy instead of Republic becasue of our current war status. Can we get Monarchy from anyone?

            I'm at a loss concerning this aspect of feudalism - anybody else have any insight?

                        There is now WW in MP, so there is not really much advantoage of choosing monarchy over republic, especially for a non-religious civ, like us. I think wo should switch to republic instead...

                          Persia can not build Med Inf. We can build Immortals until Guerrillas.

                          I will do some calculations tonight regarding the government change. I don't have a current save but we should be able to get a rough idea of what the change will be.

                          Regarding the harbor in Wittlich we also need to consider GoW's request to have a city on Estonia where they can upgrade to Riders. I see these options:
                          1. We forget about horsemen ourselves, build a harbor in Dissidentville, and no harbor in Wittlich. When GoW needs to upgrade with give them Dville for a turn or two. This temporarily halts our warrior upgrade line while the warriors stack up outside the city. When we get the city back the warriors move in and we continue the upgrade line. A harbor in both Wittlich and Dville will provide a path for the iron circumventing our broken road so that is why no harbor in Wittlich.
                          2. We build the harbor in Wittlich so we can build horsemen. We coordinate with GoW on when to loan them Dville for upgrades. A few turns before we quit producing warriors and reconnect the road. After the last of the warriors are upgraded we loan them Dville to upgrade to Riders.
                          3. We build another city on the coast that is not connected to our roads. This city builds both a harbor and a barracks so it can be loaned to GoW for the upgrades. Problem is, there are no good places. Any place not connected to our road network will be at risk to GS attack and it will be so corrupt that it will take a very long time to build both a harbor and a barracks (even with using pop-rush).

                          I think we should go with option 2. Any money we still have left at the time can be used to upgrade spearmen to pikemen.

                          Also, does Wittlich have a barracks? If it does I would rather try to use another city that does nto have a barracks to build the harbor. That way we are sacrificing regular warrior production instead of veteran warrior production.

                          How many turns has it been since our GA started?
